Who we are

This policy covers personal information handled by AJ's Guest House, Kololi. If you have any question about it, please use our contact page.

What we collect

When you make a booking or contact us, we collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your country of residence, if you tell us
• Your booking details — dates, room, number of guests, meals and any excursions
• Allergies and dietary requirements, so our kitchen can cook for you safely
• Any health information you choose to share where it is relevant to an activity, such as an injury before a massage
• Flight details, if you have asked us to collect you
• Anything else you write in a message to us

Why we collect it

• To provide your stay. We cannot hold a room, cook for you or meet you at the airport without it.
• To keep you safe. Allergy and health information exists so we do not serve you something that harms you.
• To contact you about your booking.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
• To send you news, but only if you have specifically asked for it. That box is separate from booking, never pre-ticked, and you can stop it at any time.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share the minimum necessary with:

• Our hosting and database providers, who store the booking on our behalf
• Our email provider, to send your confirmation
• Excursion guides and drivers, who receive your name and pickup time — nothing more
• Our payment provider, where a payment is taken. We never see or store your full card details.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet accounting and tax obligations, and then we delete them. Marketing contacts are removed as soon as you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Give you a copy of it
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete it, where we are not required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons
• Stop sending you marketing
• Object to how we are using it

Just ask. We will not make it difficult, and we will not charge you for it.

Keeping it secure

The site runs over an encrypted connection and booking records are held in an access-controlled database. Only staff who need to see a booking to do their job can see it.

Cookies

We use only what the site needs to function. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

Children

This site is not aimed at children. Where children are named on a booking, we collect only what is needed to arrange the stay, and we expect that to come from the adult making the booking.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page. Where a change is significant and affects a current booking, we will tell you directly.
