Questions
Things people ask us
If your question isn't here, message us. We answer everything ourselves — there's no call centre.
Getting here
Where exactly are you?
We're in Kololi, on the Atlantic coast, a short walk from the beach and close to the Senegambia strip for restaurants and nightlife.
How far is the airport?
Banjul International Airport is roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive depending on traffic. We can arrange to meet you there — just send us your flight number once you've booked.
Can you collect me from the airport?
Yes. Tell us your flight number and arrival time when you book, or any time before you travel, and a driver will be waiting for you.
How do I get around once I'm here?
Plenty is walkable. For anything further, we'll arrange a trusted driver rather than leaving you to negotiate on the roadside — it's easier and usually cheaper.
Before you travel
Do I need a visa?
It depends on your nationality, and the rules do change. Please check your own government's travel advice and, if you need it, the nearest Gambian embassy or high commission before you book flights. If you tell us where you're travelling from, we're happy to help you find the right information.
What vaccinations do I need?
That depends on your nationality, where you're travelling from and your own medical history, so we won't guess. Please speak to a travel health professional or a travel clinic well before you fly — some things need to be started weeks in advance.
Should I get travel insurance?
Yes. We'd recommend it for any international trip, and we'd rather say so plainly than have you find out the hard way.
What should I pack?
Light clothes, sandals, a hat and high-factor sun cream. Something with sleeves for the evenings and for visiting villages or markets. Plug sockets are the UK-style three-pin type, so bring an adapter if you need one.
Your stay
What time can I check in and out?
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is by 11am. If your flight lands at an awkward hour, tell us and we'll do what we can — we can usually store bags either side.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, throughout the guest house. It's good enough for messaging, email and browsing. If you need it for work, tell us in advance and we'll put you somewhere with the strongest signal.
Is there air conditioning?
Yes, in every room, along with ceiling fans and mosquito nets.
What happens if the power goes out?
Grid power in The Gambia can be intermittent. We have backup so that fans, lights and the kitchen keep running.
Can you cater for allergies or dietary requirements?
Yes, and please tell us when you book rather than on arrival. Our kitchen cooks from scratch each day, so with notice we can work around most things — but we need to know before we shop.
Is the guest house suitable for children?
Families are welcome. Get in touch before booking and we'll talk through rooms, beds and what works best for the ages you're bringing.
Booking and payment
How do I book?
Use the booking form on this site, or message us directly if you'd rather talk it through. Either way you'll get a confirmation with a reference number.
When do I pay?
We'll confirm your reservation first and set out exactly what's due and when, before you're asked for anything. Nothing is taken automatically at the moment you book.
What currency are your prices in?
All prices on this site are in US dollars. You can settle in dalasi at the property, and we'll tell you the rate we're using before you pay.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes — see our cancellation policy for the details, and get in touch as early as you can. If your plans shift, we'd rather move your dates than lose you.
Still unsure about something?
Ask us before you book rather than after. We would much rather answer five questions than have you arrive to something you weren’t expecting.
