Tanji fishing village
Go late in the afternoon, when the pirogues come back in. The whole beach turns into a working market — fish smoked on the spot, boats being repainted, everybody shouting.
It is loud, it smells of the sea and woodsmoke, and it is the most alive place on this stretch of coast.
